Update: Grass Fire Reignites Near Jamestown, Contained Again

Update at 4:45 p.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports that the fire was actually burn outside the perimeter of the first fire that broke out along Golden Oaks Drive near Campo Seco Road in the Jamestown area just after noon today. She adds that the fire has been contained at a half acre and all aircraft and incoming resources have been called off the blaze. Four engines and a hand crew will remain on scene for the next couple of hours checking on hotspots.

Update at 4:30 p.m.: CAL Fire dispatch has toned out all Columbia aircraft and ground crews back to the vegetation fire in the Jamestown area  that had been called contained around 1:30 p.m. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff relays that there is a report of a tree on fire in the burn scar of the blaze. Originally, the fire’s size was .03 acres when extinguished.  It slowed traffic in the area as officers directed on way traffic on Golden Oaks Drive near Campo Seco Road where the flames broke out just after noon today.  Further details are below.

Update at 1:35 p.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff  reports the fire on Golden Oaks Drive near Campo Seco Road in the Jamestown area has been contained at .03 acres. Crews will remain in the area mopping up for the next couple of hours. Shoff shares that what sparked the blaze is under investigation.

Update at 12:45 p.m.: CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff  reports crews are making progress as all aircraft and incoming resources have been released from the vegetation fire on Golden Oaks Drive near Campo Seco Road in the Jamestown area. The fire is a quarter acre in size and moving at a slow rate of spread. Shoff reports crews will continue to work on full containment and mopping up.

Original post at 12:15 p.m.: Jamestown, CA — Officials are arriving on the scene of a vegetation fire reported on Golden Oaks Drive near Campo Seco Road in the Jamestown area.

CAL Fire reports that it is a quarter acre in size and there is a slow rate of spread. Be prepared for activity in the area.
