Update: Oakdale Area Fire Extinguished

Update at 2:15 p.m.: CAL Fire reports the vegetation fire in the Oakdale area off Highway 120 has been contained at 2.2 acres. Further details on the blaze can be viewed below.

Update at 1:40 p.m.:  Columbia aircraft have been called off a vegetation fire off Highway 120 in the Oakdale area of Stanislaus County. CAL Fire reports that flame’s broke out in a field surrounded by an irrigated orchard, which is stopping the fire from spreading. Dispatch did not have the exact size of the blaze, but indicates that no structures were threatened and crews should have full containment shortly. The cause is under investigation.

Original post at 1:20 p.m.: Oakdale, CA — If your heard Columbia aircraft flying overhead they are headed to assist in battling a vegetation fire near the Woodward Reservoir Park in the Oakdale area of Stanislaus County.

CAL Fire reports the fire is in a field on the 15000 block of 28 Mile Road near Eastman Road off of Highway 120. There is no word on the fire’s size or rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
