Twain Harte Lake Reopening Today

Twain Harte, CA — Water tests came back clean, so the Twain Harte Lake will reopen later today.

We reported earlier that the lake was closed on Monday morning, Memorial Day, after 30 gallons of wastewater went into a drain near the lake. It happened after a resident’s private sewer lateral backed up and overflowed. The spill was cleaned up quickly, but tests needed to be conducted on the lake water to ensure it was safe for human contact.

Twain Harte Community Services District General Manager Tom Trott says the test results came back clear yesterday afternoon, so the lake will re-open today during regular business hours.

Referencing the recent closure, the Twain Harte Lake Association, which operates the lake, has written on its website, “Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, cheers to a great summer!”
