Update: Vegetation Fire In Calaveras County

Update at 6:20 p.m.: CAL Fire reports the forward rate of spread has been stopped at a half acre on a vegetation fire in the 7900 block of Cabernet Street near South Burson Road in the Jenny Lind area. Additionally, Columbia aircraft have been called off the blaze and are returning to base. CAL Fire reports crews will remain on the scene working on full containment and mopping up for the next couple of hours.

CAL Fire reports that the flames broke out in the 7900 block of Cabernet Street near South Burson Road in the Jenny Lind area. There is no word on the size or rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
