Tuolumne County Supervisors To Hold Another Special Cannabis Meeting

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County supervisors, and its marijuana working group, will hold a special meeting solely on the topic of creating a “Commercial Cannabis Work Plan.”

The meeting will be this coming Tuesday at 4pm in the Board of Supervisors meeting room in downtown Sonora. The board will provide direction to staff members surrounding the question of creating a plan related to commercial cannabis activities in the county.

The Community Resources Agency is recommending that eight additional meetings be held over the next year , with two meetings each dedicated to the single topics of taxing the drug, cultivation, retail and manufacturing.

Last month the supervisors held a special meeting focused on the issue of outdoor cultivation. Click here to view recap.

There will also be discussion Tuesday on whether the board desires an advisory ballot measure go before voters this coming June to gauge the public’s interest in taxing local cannabis activities.

Tuesday’s special meeting will stream live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.

Of note, shortly before the 4pm meeting, a separate special meeting will start at 3:45pm. The sole item will be approving an appointment to the Groveland Community Services District. No additional information is immediately available.
