Update: Winter Weather Advisory For The Sierra Nevada

The Winter Weather Advisory issued for the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada will expire at 5 PM this afternoon (Tuesday).

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snowfall is occurring this morning.

The snow levels will remain around 4,500 to 6,000 feet.

Additional snow accumulations above the 5,000 foot elevation, will range from two inches to half-a-foot. The higher you go, the more the snow.

Wind will continue to gust up to thirty-five mph.

Travel could be very difficult in the mountains due to slick and snow covered roads. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
