Update: Winter Weather Advisory For The Sierra Nevada Above 4,000 Feet

The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the entire San Joaquin Valley through 11 AM this morning.

Visibility in the fog is down to one quarter of a mile or less.

The fog is creating hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

If you are driving and encounter fog, slow down, use your low-beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada and Yosemite National Park above 4.000 feet, from 10 PM tonight (Tuesday) until 4 AM Thursday.

Snow is forecast to start around 5,000 to 6,000 feet, before lowering down to 3,500 to 4,500 feet on Wednesday.

Total snow accumulations above the 4,000 foot elevation, will range from half-a-foot to a foot-and-a-half. The higher you go, the more the snow.

Winds may gust as high as forty mph.

The snow and wind may adversely impact extended holiday travel. Plan on slippery and snow covered road conditions. Travel could be very difficult, if not impossible.
