60 Acre Fire Ignites West Of Lake McClure

Mariposa, CA — Crews are working to contain a vegetation fire that ignited west of Lake McClure in Mariposa County.

As you can see from the map, it is also just west of the Detwiler Fire footprint. CAL Fire reports that the wildfire ignited late this afternoon off Merced Falls Road and Coronado Road. The so-called “Coronoda Fire” is 60 acres and there is no containment.

There are no evacuation advisories or orders currently in place, via the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office. Air and ground resources are on scene. It is unknown what ignited the fire. Crews will continue to work towards gaining containment throughout the late night hours and into tomorrow.
