Mono Way-Greenley Road Widening To Commence

Sonora, CA — The widening of a major intersection in Sonora will soon get underway.

City Engineer Jerry Fuccillo says George Reed Inc. will begin work on Tuesday widening the intersection of Mono Way and Greenley Road.

The first phase of the roughly $3-million project will be night-time utility work that will result in 10-minute traffic delays between 7pm and 6am. The overall project itself will run through October. It includes relocating utilities, grading, storm drain improvements, new concrete sidewalks, signal system improvements and paving. During the first week, traffic will only be impacted during the evening, but eventually there will be daytime work that will cause motorist delays.

The city plans to complete the roadwork prior to the end of construction of Adventist Health Sonora’s nearby Health Pavilion and Diana J. White Cancer Institute. Click here to view an earlier story about that project.
