CCWD Completes Copperopolis Water Transmission Line Repairs

Copperopolis, CA — The water service was restored this morning for approximately 200 residential customers and 20 businesses in Copperopolis.

As reported previously, the Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) started making repairs at 9:30am to a water transmission line on Copper Cove Drive. Now that service has been restored, CCWD warns that customers may initially experience air bubbles and discolored water.

CCWD notes that the bubbles and discoloration do not pose a health risk, but it is recommended that you avoid washing loads of laundry with light colored clothing. To eliminate the bubbles and discoloration, customers can turn on an outside faucet at the lowest level of their properties and let it run until the water turns clear. CCWD will also be flushing its system, using fire hydrants, to remove the bubbles and coloring.

Copper Cove Drive is back open to vehicle traffic after being closed during the repair work.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the CCWD Customer Service Department at 209-754-3543.
