Update: Winter Storm Warning For The Sierra Nevada Through Wednesday

The Winter Storm Warnings issued for the western slope of the Northern Sierra Nevada and Yosemite National Park, including the Yosemite Valley, will all expire at 10 AM this morning (Wednesday).

Additional snow accumulations of up to six inches are possible above the 4,000 foot elevation.

The winds could continue to gust as high as fifty mph. Very strong winds may cause extensive tree damage.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. If you plan to travel, consider alternate strategies. If you must travel, plan on slippery road conditions with chain controls resulting in travel delays. Carry tire chains, a flashlight, plenty of food, a good deal of water and warm clothing in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
