Update: Motorcycle Crash In East Sonora Results In Serious Injuries

Update at 2:15 p.m.: The wreckage has been removed and traffic is moving freely at the intersection of Mono Way and Tuolumne Road in East Sonora.

Update at 1:25 p.m.:  First responders remain on the scene of a motorcycle versus Honda sedan collision at the intersection of Mono Way and Tuolumne Road in East Sonora that is backing up traffic.

Sonora Unit CHP spokesperson Officer Steve Machado detailed, “The sedan was stopped and waiting on Tuolumne Road to make a right turn onto Mono Way when the motorcycle swerved to miss rear-ending the car and instead smacked into the right side of the sedan, ejecting the motorcycle rider.” Suffering major injuries, the rider was taken via ground ambulance to a local hospital.

The wreckage is blocking a section of the roadway and officers continue to direct traffic.

Original post at 12:42 p.m.: East Sonora, CA — A motorcycle crash at the intersection of Mono Way and Tuolumne Road in East Sonora is backing up traffic.

The wreck happened just before 12:30 p.m., with a motorcycle going down. An ambulance has been called to the scene, but there is no information yet on possible injuries. The wreckage is blocking part of the roadway and officers are directing traffic, which is getting backed up. Motorists in the area may want to find an alternate route as there is plenty of activity.
