CHP Releases Details On HWY49 Crash

Tuttletown, CA – The CHP has released the names of the individuals involved in a head-on wreck in the Tuttletown area that slowed traffic on Highway 49 during Friday’s evening commute.

The accident happened just after 2:30 p.m. Friday on the highway south of Tuttletown road.  The CHP reports 47-year-old Cynthia Porter from Angels Camp was driving a 2006 white Honda CRV southbound on the highway when she reached into her glove box. The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and smashed head-on into a 2012 Buick Regal driven by 51-year-old Christine Montague from Atwater.

The wreckage blocked one lane of the highway for more than a half an hour while fire personnel directed traffic.  The CHP reports minor injuries in the crash.
