Update: Firefighters Stop Forward Spread In Escaped Debris Burn

Update at 10:45 a.m.:  Cal Fire reports firefighters have stopped the flame’s forward rate of spread in an escaped debris burn in Calaveras County. The size of a blaze is holding at seven and a half acres. The fire broke out just before 8 a.m. Saturday when a property owner on Blue Mountain Road, burning tree brush, lost control of flames. The fire is located between Wilseyville and the Arnold  area just under the Boom Blue Mountain Lookout. Crews will remain on the scene working towards full containment and mopping up.

Update at 9:05 a.m.: Cal Fire has downsized the escaped debris fire burning on Blue Mountain Road between Wilseyville and the Arnold  area just under the Boom Blue Mountain Lookout from fifteen to five acres. A property owner on Blue Mountain Road had been burning logging flash debris, consisting of tree limbs and leaves, since Friday night and on Saturday morning the flames got out of control.  Cal Fire reports crews are getting a handle on the blaze and are working to get a hose line around the fire’s perimeter. The flames are burning in a remote location with no structures threatened, according to Cal Fire.

Original post at 8 a.m.: Calaveras County, CA — Firefighters are heading to an escaped control burn in Calaveras County.

Cal Fire reports a property owner on Blue Mountain Road had been burning debris since Friday night and this morning the flames got out of control. The fire is 15 acres in size. It’s located between Wilseyville and the Arnold  area just under the Boom Blue Mountain Lookout, according to Cal Fire. No structures are threatened. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the news center.
