Caltrans Road Roundup

Sonora, CA — Caltrans keeps crews busy in the Mother Lode next week as long as Mother Nature cooperates and keeps the rain away.

Some possible hefty delays in Tuolumne County along Highway 120 with crews working on several stretches of the roadway creating anywhere from 10 to 20 minute hold ups. Caltrans provides this schedule:

As reported here, overnight work at the Highway 120 James E Roberts Bridge was halted this week, but picks up again on Monday and runs through Friday detouring motorists for about ten minutes from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m.

Crews will also continue tree work along Highway 108 between Chief Fuller Way and Kennedy Meadows Sunday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., which could mean up to fifteen-minute delays for motorists.

Calaveras Cone Zones

Highway 4 continues to be the hot spot in Calaveras County. Every weekday on the highway between the Stanislaus/Calaveras County line and Highway 49 in Angels Camp paving work is being done from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., back logging traffic for at least ten minutes at a time. Similar traveler impacts are likely between Dorrington Station and Cabbage Patch Log Road from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

There will be several areas with utility work along Highway 4. Motorists can expect up to ten-minute interruptions between Upper Moran Road and the Big Trees State Park entrance from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and flaggers will be directing one-way traffic control. A utility crew, on-scene between Lakemont Drive and Henry Street/Lilac Street, continues to slow traffic daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Utility work will also cause minor slowdowns in the following Calaveras locations: on Highway 26 weekdays between Nove Way and Highway 12, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.; along Highway 49 weekdays between Main Street and Pool Station Road, from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Striping operations are starting up again Sunday through the work week from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Highway 12 between the San Joaquin/Calaveras County line and Highway 49, triggering ten-minute backups. There will be similar work and times on Highway 26 between Shelton Road and Highway 49.

Tree work along Highway 26 the Calaveras/Amador County line and ending at Humbug Creek Road will prompt 10 minute delays Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Five minute delays are expected during drainage work on Highway 12 Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
