20 Years Of Concours d’Elegance

The 20th annual Concours d’Elegance will be held at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys this Saturday.

Ironstone Concours Foundation President Gail Kautz was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

This Saturday, Ironstone Vineyards will be hosting the 20th annual Concours d’Elegance vintage car show from 10 AM until 4 PM. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 3 PM.

According to Kautz, this year’s special anniversary show will feature nearly three hundred original classics, including vehicles from the early 1900’s through the mid-seventies as well as some vintage and rare race cars.

The purpose of the Concours d’Elegance, in addition to entertaining car buffs, is to raise funds for 4-H and Future Farmers of America. Over the past few years over a half million dollars has been raised for those groups.

Additionally, the event provides funding for local and statewide 4H and FFA (Future Farmers of America) Calaveras County Fair, and a scholarship for the winner of the State Fair Scholarship Program.

Tickets will be available at the entrance gate.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML.
