Copperopolis Boating Accident Victims Recovering

Copperopolis, CA — There is new information regarding the condition of the two females hurt in an unfortunate inner tube incident.

As first reported here, the accident happened Sunday on Lake Tulloch just before 5 p.m. A boat was pulling the water tube when another boat crashed into the tube and women riders. Both were flown from the scene to trauma hospitals.

Following numerous inquiries of concern from the public, Clarke Broadcasting contacted Calaveras County Sheriff Rick DiBasilio to get an update on their condition. DiBasilio stated, “One of the women is getting better, while one is still in serious condition but stable.”

55-year-old Dean Payne from Copperopolis has been arrested for boating under the influence and fleeing the scene of an accident. His bail is set at $15,000.
