Tuolumne County Fire Contained

Cedar Ridge, CA — Firefighters have extinguished a blaze in the Mt. Elizabeth area that broke out in a structure and spread to vegetation.

The fire was ignited at around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 17000 block of Mt Elizabeth Drive, near Martingale Lane, off of Kewin Mill Road.  A structure was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived on the scene. Cal Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff reports that the flames broke out in a shop/garage and then spread to about a half an acre of grass. She adds the structure was totally destroyed.

There is no word on what caused the fire. Crews will continue to check for hotspots Wednesday, according to Cal Fire dispatch.
