San Andreas, CA — A vegetation fire continues to burn near Burson after more than a day.
Dubbed the Campo Fire, it is located off Campo Seco Road near Chile Camp Road east of Camanche Reservoir. Still described as 36 acres in size the fire remains under heavy mop up. Although CAL Fire is not yet calling it contained, hose lines are in place all the way around it. Currently, seven engines, two crews and a water tender are working the incident from the Tuolumne-Calaveras and San Benito-Monterey CAL Fire units.
As reported here, the grass fire broke out Monday midafternoon, initially reported as under two acres in size. No structures are threatened and no determination has been yet released as to the cause.
