Update: Wind And Rain Expected This Thursday

According to the National Weather Service, an upcoming storm is expected to arrive on Thursday and taper off on Friday. It will bring wet and windy weather to Northern California.

Winds will be enhanced more so than prior storms this season. Residents should be prepared for possible power outages and clogged gutters/drains from wind blown leaves, which could lead to minor flooding.

Winds will gust up to forty mph in the central valley and will gust even higher over the crest of the Sierra.

Snow levels in the Sierra Nevada will range between 5,000 to 6,000 feet.

Half a foot to one foot of total snow accumulation is expected above 5000 feet.

Rainfall totals in the Mother Lode and the Sierra Nevada will range from half an inch to an inch and a half. Rain totals in the central valley will range from 0.2-0.5 inches.
