T.U.D. To Unveil Rate Plan

Sonora, CA — The T.U.D. Board of Directors will talk about the timeline to educate customers about proposed rate increases.

The item is on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting. As part of the Proposition 218 legal process, the District is looking to send out notices to all T.U.D. customers prior to September 28th, and a public hearing on the planned increases would be held on November 17th. The additional money coming to the district would be used to fund T.U.D.’s operations and maintenance, and to replace outdated equipment and facilities. The images in the upper left hand corner show how water rates would change, and how T.U.D.’s rate structure compares with other comparable districts.

In addition, the Board of Directors will hear an update on the current water supply, and review the long-term Capital Improvement Plan. Tuesday’s meeting will start at 5:30pm in the T.U.D. meeting room on Nugget Blvd. in Sonora. You will be able to watch the meeting live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
