Butte Fire Evacuees Get Help From Calaveras Realtors

Angels Camp, CA — The Calaveras County Association of Realtors (CCAR) office in Angels Camp has organized a streamlined system to help displaced evacuees into rental properties.

According to spokesperson Teri Rogers, “Area offices have actually put the word out to owners of properties asking for short-term, full-time rentals. So, the inventory is growing by the day in all areas of the county…they’re [evacuees] not stuck to just one specific area or apartment.” She adds that the hope is to find  rentals in two to three days time for those in need. However, the numbers of rentals offered, which will be updated daily, will depend on how many people apply, explains Rogers.

While some of the rentals are furnished others are not. The association has also set up donation centers at several offices across the county where people can donate items to evacuees to make their move in easier. Rogers adds, “They [evacuees] need everything. They need dishes, pots, pans, furniture, blankets, clothes and toiletries. Everybody lost everything they had.”

For assistance, contact the association at 209 736-4600, or send an email information request, using “Butte Fire Rental Application” in the Subject Line to info@calaverasrealtors.com
