Donnell Reservoir Fire 75% Contained

Tuolumne County, CA — A fire that was ignited by lightning in the Stanislaus National Forest last week is up to 3.5 acres and 75% contained. The fire was spotted last Thursday in very steep and difficult terrain near Donnell Reservoir. An engine and crew remain on scene today working to cut a firm fire line.

A fire crew is also continuing to monitor the Rosasco Fire in the Groveland Ranger District. The 3.4 acre fire was a leftover heat signature from the Rim Fire. It is 100% contained.

Some Forest Service crews have also been helping CAL Fire extinguish the 204 acre Big Creek Fire outside of Groveland. The Forest Service reports that full containment of that incident is anticipated by 8pm today.
