Business Council Opposes More Planning Commissions

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Business Council is taking issue with a recent recommendation of the Tuolumne County Grand Jury.

We reported last week that the Grand Jury is recommending that the Southern Tuolumne County Planning Commission be re-introduced, making the argument that south county residents are “dis-enfranchised.”

The Tuolumne County Business Council is very opposed to the idea, and offers a counter argument in a new myMotherLode.com blog authored by the organization’s President, Darrell Slocum. You can read it by clicking here.

In a move designed to streamline and expedite the review process for projects, the Board of Supervisors voted in February of 2013 to disband the Jamestown, Columbia and Southern Tuolumne County Planning Commissions, as well as design review and advisory committees in Phoenix Lake, Tuolumne, Twain Harte and Muller Subdivision.
