Vegetation Fire Burns In Calaveras County

Angels Camp, CA — Firefighters are still on the scene of a two-acre grass fire near Angels Camp.

Cal Fire dispatch reports that the flames broke out on Pool Station Road near MJB Ranch Road at around 10 a.m. Crews were able to make quick work of the blaze and put the fire out in under 15 minutes.

Resources on the scene included Columbia Air-Attack, six engines, two water tenders, and two hand crews. The flames threatened one structure, according to Cal Fire dispatch, but firefighters were able to keep them at bay with no damage to the structure. There is no word on what sparked the incident. Cal Fire reports that a small crew will remain at the site, mopping up and checking for hot spots for the next several hours.
