Updated: Cause Determined In Soulsbyville Fire

Soulsbyville, CA — A fire was extinguished inside a home this morning in the 20000 block of Kings Court near Soulsbyville.

Updated at 12pm: CAL Fire Battalion Chief Barry Rudolph reports the fire was contained to a chair inside the residence. The occupant of the home was initially having trouble getting out of the residence and was assisted by a passerby, prior to the firefighters arriving. The occupant had been smoking a cigarette, and this is what caused the fire. She also was wearing an oxygen mask which caused it to spread.  The individual had no notable injuries. Firefighting Resources responded from CAL Fire, Tuolumne City Fire and CAL Fire.

10:45am: Firefighters are on scene of a small fire reported at a home in the 20000 block of Kings Court near Soulsbyville.

The fire was located inside the structure and quickly extinguished. No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident, but you may notice some activity in the area.
