Commission Approves Bourbon Barrel Design

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Planning Commission has ok’d the exterior design for a new business that is planning to open in Sonora.

The Commission voted 5-0 last night to issue a Design Review Permit for the planned Bourbon Barrel at 208 S. Green Street. The applicant was Doug Kennedy, on behalf of Trado Restaurant Corporation. The business plans to specialize in an assortment of bourbon whiskeys, accompanied by fine food, wine and beer. The exterior of the building will have a new façade, and sign.

City of Sonora Community Development Director Rachelle Kellogg notes that there are additional permits that the business will need to acquire before opening, dealing with interior improvements, and health requirements. However, the Design Review Permit approved last night is the only one that requires approval from an entity such as the Planning Commission or City Council.
