Holiday Ice Cream Recall

California grocery stories are being asked to pull another product for possible listeria contamination.

As reported yesterday, the Safeway grocery store chain pulled all its prepackaged caramel apples from its supermarkets’ shelves across the country due to a lawsuit filed by the family of an 81-year-old Santa Cruz County California woman who died from a listeria infection linked to the candy apples.

Today, a Washington manufacturer of Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream has recalled some of its products in California and several other western states, due to possible listeria contamination.  The flavors taken off the shelves are all flavors and sizes of ice cream, gelato, custard and sorbet.  The recall also includes its Emerald & Spruce Ice Cream and Top Pot Hand Forged Ice Cream.
