County Approves Aspects Of Juvenile Hall

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors took some additional steps this week towards finalizing aspects leading up to the future Mother Lode Juvenile detention facility.

The county received a $16 million grant for the project, about five years ago.

The County voted 5-0 Tuesday to finalize some of the state agreements including a ground lease, easement agreement, design agreement, etc. The county hopes to begin construction on the project around February, with hopes of it being completed in 2016.

The overall project is expected to cost around $19 million. It will be the first project constructed at the Law and Justice Center site of Old Wards Ferry Road.
