Copperopolis, CA– Firefighters and a Columbia helicopter are heading to a vegetation fire in Copperopolis. Cal Fire reports the flames broke on Buckboard Drive near Wagonwheel Drive. There is no word on size, rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened at this time. We will bring you more information as soon as it is available.

Update 2:40 pm: Cal Fire reports the fire is one to two acres and moving at a moderate rate of spread. No structures are threatened. Cal Fire reports firefighters are getting a handle on the flames.
Update 4:45 pm: Cal Fire reports the fire is contained at two acres. No structures are threatened. Crews are still on the scene mopping up, but the helicopter has been called back to the Columbia base.
