Air Resources Respond To Fires

Firefighters have quickly controlled two fires in the Mother Lode.

Air resources from Columbia were dispatched to fires in both East Sonora and Copperopolis late this afternoon.

The Sonora fire was located on Highway 108 near Peaceful Oak Road. The small roadside spot fire was quickly contained.

There was also a fire that originated near a propane tank on Arrowhead Street in Copperopolis. The fire extended into parts of a nearby home, and was quickly controlled. Air resources responding to both incidents have now returned back to base.
