Watch Out For Students

Sonora, CA — Students at a majority of the public schools in the Mother Lode head back to class tomorrow.

“It means an increase in pedestrian traffic, school buses with red lights flashing, and I want to remind the public to be careful out there,” said CHP Lt. Scott Clamp, at today’s Tuolumne County Supervisors meeting.

As reported previously, all Tuolumne County public schools start on Wednesday, as well as all schools in the Bret Harte High School District in Calaveras County. The Calaveras Unified School District is on more of a year-round type schedule, and classes began on July 29.

Most charter schools in Tuolumne County also start Wednesday. Classes begin August 25th at Columbia College. School starts September 3 at Sierra Waldorf School.
