HWY 120 Fire Acreage Jumps

Chinese Camp, CA — Cal Fire reports the brush fire along Highway 120 has grown, but crews are getting a handle on the flames.

Cal Fire reports the fire has grown from 15 acres to around 50 to 60 acres, but the forward progress has been stopped.  The flames broke out after 4 pm along Highway 120 south of the Yosemite Junction near Chinese Camp.  The CHP reports the northbound lane of Highway 120 is blocked.  We will bring you more information as soon as it is available.

Update 5:15 pm: The CHP reports Highway 49 from Highway 108 to Chinese Camp is closed.

Update 6:05 pm: The CHP reports the roadway has been reopened.
