Clinic Closed In Calaveras County

Valley Springs, CA — The Calaveras County Health Department will close its Valley Springs Immunization Clinic at the United Methodist Church due to low attendance on July 1. There is no official reason why attendance is down.

“We think that people have access to immunizations in other ways,” says Calaveras County Health Officer Dr. Dean Kelaita, “There’s better insurance now.  The Affordable Care Act has resulted in people getting signed up for insurance plans easier. There’s services for people who are low income, Medi-Cal, and people now can and probably should get them through their medical provider.”

The Immunization clinic in San Andreas will remain open on Mondays and Thursdays.  For more information, you can call Public Health Services at (209) 754-6460 or click here.
