Home Destroyed In Lush Meadows Fire: Forward Spread Slowed

Mariposa, CA — Firefighters remain busy this afternoon in Mariposa County.

CAL Fire reports that one home has been destroyed in a fire near the Lush Meadows subdivision, and about three others are considered in danger. Those homes in the direct vicinity have been evacuated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The six acre fire is burning in trees and grass.

CAL Fire reports that  the forward spread of the fire has slowed. Air resources from Columbia are assisting in the fight, and the Columbia Air Attack base is being utilized as a refueling station.

CAL Fire reports that crews will likely remain on scene into Monday.
