J-59 Fire Contained

La Grange, CA — Cal Fire reports the J-59 fire is contained at 500 acres.

The flames started around 11:45 Wednesday on J-59 and Bonds Flat Road west of Don Pedro Reservoir. Crews battled the blaze all day today.  Cal Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says the dry conditions helped to fuel the fire, but crews were able to keep the flames from spreading.

Williams says, “They [crews] just have to make sure all the hotspots are out. It’s just so dry that if the wind catches an ember it could start a fire so they’re watching hotspots and mopping up.”
