Two Sonora Women Arrested For Drugs

Sonora, CA — A traffic stop resulted in the drug bust of two Sonora women.  The incident happened Tuesday just after 1 p.m. in downtown Sonora.

A Sonora Police officer spotted a GMC pick-up with expired plates at Shepherd and Jackson Streets.  The officer stopped the vehicle and recognized the passenger as 25-year-old Gina Cassettari who was wanted for vehicle theft.  The officer searched Cassettari and found hydrocodone pills, which had not been prescribed to her.

In addition, Cassettari had a restraining order against the driver of the truck, 46-year-old Jamie Forrest. Forrest was found to have a baggie of methamphetamine on her. A search of the pick-up netted a bag containing 65 Norco pills, which had not been prescribed to her.

Both Cassettari and Forrest were arrested and taken to the Tuolumne County Jail and booked. Cassettari faces felony charges of possession of a controlled narcotic, misdemeanor violation of a court order and for the outstanding vehicle theft warrant. Forrest was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of a controlled narcotic.
