Labor Unions Losing Support?

A new state poll shows a growing number of Californians have a negative view of labor unions.

In 2011, a Field Poll found that 46% of California voters felt labor unions did more good than harm, and 35% felt they did more harm than good. A Field Poll released this week found that only 40% now have a positive view of organized labor, and 45% feel unions do more harm than good.

The new poll found that 55% of registered Democrats have a positive view of labor unions, but only 19% of Republicans share the same opinion. 39% of voters that are not affiliated with a political party have a positive view of labor unions, and 44% have a negative view.
