Unknown Type Of Fire In Calaveras County

Avery, CA — Firefighters are headed to the scene of a fire near Avery in Calaveras County. CalFire reports they are getting conflicting reports on what type of fire has ignited at this time. There are three engines headed to scene on the 1000 block of Avery Sheep Ranch Road. We will bring you updates as soon as we have more information.

Update 2:45 PM: Cal Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says the fire started in a trailer and jumped to some nearby vegetation. Crews were able to out the flames quickly. Williams says only a small area of vegetation was burned. There is no word on what sparked the blaze. The fire is under investigation.
