2nd Saturday Of October Weekend Events

The weekend of October 12 and 13 features several events.

The previously canceled Film Fest Twain Harte was rescheduled for this Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships and Rim Fire Restoration. Columbia’s 29th annual Harvest Festifall is also both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring this arts and crafts fair held in Columbia State Historic Park. Local musicians and dancers will perform in the gazebo and on the street, there are activities for the children, and many vendors will demonstrate how their crafts are made. The March Against Monsanto will be held at Courthouse Park in Sonora from 12pm to 2pm and then from 4pm to 7:30pm expect zombies taking part in “The Walking Dead Sonora” This is the 3rd Annual zombie walk & food drive. Participants should bring donations of food and/or supplies for A-TCAA Food Bank and The Humane Society. More details about the event are here.

Saturday is also Sonora’s 2nd Saturday ART NIGHT. Art Night features Sonora’s several art galleries in Historic Downtown Sonora and music beginning at 5pm and going until 9pm in Historic Downtown Sonora. Art Night details are here.

Over near Arnold on Saturday is the Snagfallers Ball. Dancing, raffles and good times can be had at Independence Hall in White Pines. The event celebrates the old-time tradition of having a family gathering before the loggers went off on the very dangerous job of removing snags in the forest.
