Several Vegetation Fires Sparked

Groveland, CA — There are several vegetation fires on Old Priest Grade in Tuolumne County near Groveland. Ground and Columbia air Units have been called to the lower end of Old Priest Grade. The CHP is reporting a GMC pick-up truck had flames shooting out of the back camper shell and that ignited several grass fires along the roadway. Motorists will want to use caution in the area as there will be plenty of fire vehicle activity in the area. We will bring you more information as soon as more details are available.

Update 10:25 am: Cal Fire reports Old Priest Grade is closed to traffic. Crews are battling a a three to four acre grass fire on the east side of the roadway. Cal Fire says they are making progress on that blaze.


Update 10:45 am: Cal Fire reports the several grass fires has now joined into one and that makes up the three to four acre grass fire.
