West Point, CA — Firefighters are also on the scene of a vegetation fire in Calaveras County. It is on Winton Road near Bald Mountain Road in the West Point area. Cal Fire reports about a half-acre of grass is on fire and the Columbia air unit is not being called to the blaze at this time. We will bring you updates as soon as we have more information.

Update 1:30pm: Cal Fire reports the forward rate of spread is stopped.
Update 1:55pm: Cal Fire reports the fire is contained. About a half-acre of grass was burned.
