127 Acre Bridges Fire

The fire near Parrotts Ferry Road and Camp Nine is 25% contained.

CAL Fire Spokesperson Nancy Longmore says it is estimated to be 127 acres. It is located above Natural Bridges in Calaveras County. No structures are considered in immediate danger, and there are no evacuation orders. Officials still advise everyone to avoid the area due to the heavy amount of fire traffic. The fire has been difficult to fight due to the steep terrain. Two firefighters have reported injuries, but the extent is not immediately known. Longmore says firefighters will remain on scene through tonight and into tomorrow. Click here to view a map of the region.

The Rim Fire in Stanislaus National Forest is still an estimated 200 acres in size. Air resources have returned back to base for the night, and officials plan to hit it hard again at first light. It is located in an isolated area along the north facing slope of the Clavey River Canyon.
