Cottonwood Fire Contained: Rim Fire 200 Acres

Sonora, CA — Fire officials remain busy this evening.

-Forest Service spokesperson Jerry Snyder says the Rim Fire continues to burn up a north facing slope of the Clavey River canyon towards Jawbone Ridge. Snyder says it is in an isolated region, and no structures are considered in immediate danger. It is approximately 200 acres. Click here to view a map. -A second fire in the Stanislaus National Forest along Cottonwood Road is now contained at 2-3 acres.

-CAL Fire reports that the Bridges Fire off Parrotts Ferry Road is still 60 acres in size and there is no containment yet. Click here to view an earlier story with photos and video.
