Power Fire Nearing Containment

Pinecrest, CA — The Power Fire is now 60% contained at 1050 acres and forest officials estimate it will be contained early next week. Some Forest Service Roads near the Power Fire are closed. They include 5N95 at Beardsley Road and 5N32 at Highway 108. Those roads are only open to fire fighters and logging trucks.

Power Fire Spokesperson Tina Rose gives us the plan of attack. “We are going to stay with the same game plan. We are going to have fire fighters out on the line. They are going to be mopping up hot spots and cutting more line. We are not give up on this at all right now we are full steam ahead until we have it fully contained which we estimate will be Tuesday, August 13th,” says Rose.

Recreational areas, businesses and highways are open for the weekend travelers. Forest Officials caution visitors to drive slowly and be careful when burning campfires especially in making sure they are completely out.
