No Longer A Bovine TB-Free State

California has officially lost its status as a bovine tuberculosis-free state. That means ranchers are going to have to pay more when they want to move cattle across state lines. The U.S. Department of Agriculture removed California´s bovine TB-free status on Friday because the chronic lung disease was discovered in two dairy herds in Tulare County last year.
