The Tuolumne Utilities District says 1000 gallons of raw sewage leaked into Phoenix Lake early this morning.
TUD General Manager Tim McCollough says none of the polluted water made it´s way to the Sonora Water Treatment Plant. He says workers were able to divert the water around the area affected by the spill.
McCollough says the leak happened around 3:30 a.m. and was shut off less that two hours later.
The sewage leaked from a line along Phoenix Lake Road near Glory Lane.
