Another Power Usage Record Set

Tuesday was another record-setting power-usage day in our state.

While no emergencies were required, peak demand broke the 45-thousand megawatt mark at 4pm.

The high temperatures in the late afternoon drove the electricity used in California to 45,165 megawatts.

The previous record was set last month, at just under 45-thousand megawatts.

And officials predict Wednesday could set another record.

While there should be enough power to go around, officials still say it´s a good idea to conserve energy between 4pm and 7pm.

Turn off unnecessary lights, avoid using big appliances, and draw the drapes to keep out sunlight.
