Human Remains Could Be From Meth Suspect

Detectives continue their work in the case of the human remains found near Bar XX east of Copperopolis last Thursday.

One theory, say investigators, is that the bones may have come from a man who ran from a meth lab bust in 2002.

Hunters found a skull at the end of Bonanza Mine Road last week and a followup search led to the discovery of more bones.

An autopsy was performed in Modesto, but no obvious cause of death could be found.

Dental records are now being searched, and the bones will now be taken to a forensic anthropologist in Santa Cruz.
