Update: Fire Reported In San Andreas Area

Update at 3:25 p.m.: Dubbed the “Doster Incident,” CAL Fire reports that the flames’ forward rate of spread has been stopped at four acres. Ground crews will remain on scene working towards full containment and mopping up. Columbia aircraft have been diverted to a new fire that ignited in the Glenco area, as reported here.

Update at 2:15 p.m.: CAL Fire reports the grass fire burning along Doster Road near Hawver Road, between San Andreas and the Jesus Maria area has grown to four acres in size. However, they add that crews have gained 20 percent containment on the blaze. Two structures are threatened. Currently, there are no evacuations ordered.

Original post at 1:40 p.m.: Jesus Maria, CA — A fire has been reported in Calaveras County, so, if you heard Columbia aircraft flying overhead, they and grounds crews are head to the area. CAL Fire relays the fire was reported along Doster Road near Hawver Road, between San Andreas and the Jesus Maria area. There are reports of a medium grayish-white column of smoke rising into the sky, but currently, there are no other details. An update will be provided as soon as new details come into the newsroom.
